FAQ

How do I sell my clothes?

Visit our Sell My Clothes tab to get started. A USPS link made specifically for HVT will generate a prepaid shipping label for you — we cover the cost. Just provide your own box and ship from home or the post office. Please do not use a USPS box as they are costly to our small business.
Please use an appropriately sized box, as larger boxes increase shipping costs for our small business.

When can I expect payment?

Like any other resale store, payment is issued after we receive your items and verify their condition. As long as the items match what was discussed, the agreed-upon price will be honored. We send payment within 1-3 days of receiving clothing. We use Paypal or Zelle for payment.

What can I expect to be paid?

We use simple pricing:

  • Shirts & Pants
    New with tags: $5
Gently used / light staining: $3

  • Bibs & Sweatshirts
    New with tags: $10
Gently used / light staining: $8

Why can’t you give me more money?

We price our products fairly to keep them accessible to customers and support our mission. Offering higher payouts would require raising our prices, which we aim to avoid. Our mission is keeping prices down and giving back to this trade by donating a portion of proceeds to the NSUJL. The NSUJL helps support fallen or injured IBEW lineworker's families after an incident.

What quality of clothing do you accept?

We do not accept items with holes or severe staining- we discard these items when we receive them. Company embroideries are acceptable.

What box should I use?

Use the smallest box that comfortably fits your items. A 14x14x14 box can hold nearly 30 lbs of clothing. Plain or reused non-HAZMAT boxes are fine. Do not use USPS-branded or oversized boxes, as they are costly.
